January 2017. Príncipe de Viana Reserva 2011 receives 92 points from Wine Review Online.
Last January 3rd, San Franscisco Chronicle’s wine collaborator Michael Apstein published his wine tasting review of Príncipe de Viana Reserva 2011 on Wine Review Online, a magazine edited by some of the most relevant wine critics in the United States. Apstein on Príncipe de Viana Reserva:
“Despite its five years of age, this rich wine remains tight and needs additional bottle age. It’s closed, but balanced, at this stage, and just needs time to open as opposed to being hard or astringent and needing time to soften. Lively acidity balances its plum-like fruitiness and muscular stature, keeping it fresh. If you opt to drink it this winter, open a few hours before the meal and decant it to let it breathe. Alternatively, find a place for this bargain-priced beauty in your cellar.

This 100% Tempranillo wine displays aromas of ripe red and black fruit -blackcurrants, cherries and plums, balanced with a well-integrated wood which adds hints of cinnamon and cocoa to the bouquet. Good sweet tannins and a long finish with delicious fruit and toast notes.
Príncipe de Viana is a reference for quality, unique style and research to offer consumers the answers to their needs. With this philosophy, the brand has earned the recognition of international experts and press, such as Guía Peñín, the American magazine International Wine Cellar, or The Wine Advocate (Robert Parker).
